Sprinkles launches cupcake contest for local studentsPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Sprinkles Cupcakes is offering local students the chance to have their own creations sold in the Scottsdale store.
Starting to today, the world's first cupcake-only bakery is launching Candace's Cupcake Challenge by asking local students to submit their cake and frosting recipes via submission forms.
The challenge is open to any elementary student in Maricopa County. The deadline for entries is Feb. 7.
Sprinkles will choose three recipes to sell Feb. 24-28. The public can cast their vote by buying their favorite cupcake.
3TV's Yetta Gibson got the lowdown Monday morning while chatting with two young bakers and their moms.
The school with the student's top selling cupcake will receive $1,000 cash donation and a cupcake party for the entire school. The second and third best-selling cupcakes will each receive a cupcake party for the submitting classroom and cash donations to the school for $500 and $250 respectively.
