PHOENIX -- This past weekend's pleasant weather in the Valley continues into the MLK holiday.

A persistent ridge of high pressure will bring abundant sunshine, light winds and dry weather through the middle of this week. Morning lows will continue to bottom out in th eupper 30s to upper 40s across town, while afternoon highs will soar well above average into the 70s.

Look for a Valley high of 76 today and 77 tomorrow under mostly sunny skies.

High clouds will increase by late Tuesday and Wednesday for partly sunny skies but continued warm temperatures.

Toward the end of the week, look for increased breezes and slightly lower temperatures in the low 70s, but still no rain in sight.

Air quality is slightly improved and the health watches and burn bans from the weekend have been allowed to expire.
