GILBERT, Ariz. -- Police are searching for two people who burglarized a home Friday, which prompted lockdowns at two nearby elementary schools.

It occurred in a neighborhood northwest of Guadalupe and Power roads.

The homeowner reportedly arrived at her home in the area of the 1100 block of North Owl Drive Friday afternoon to find two intruders.

They stole several handguns before running from the home, according to Gilbert police.

Towne Meadows and Carol Rae Ranch elementary schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution, police said.

Police are searching for a white man and woman in their 20s.

The man is described as having facial hair and bad teeth. He was wearing a worn Green Bay Packers T-shirt.

The woman is described as being thin with blond hair, which was up in a ponytail, and also having bad teeth. She was wearing a black tank top with a hoodie tied around her waist.
