PHOENIX -- A strong ridge of high pressure along the West Coast will continue to bring Arizona warmer than normal temperatures for the next week.

The ridge, part of a rather blocked-up weather pattern, will shift slightly eastward and warm us up a little bit.

Then, toward the end of next week, we should see some cooler temperatures as another storm system tries to make its way into Arizona.

Precipitation is needed statewide. The Valley has been without rain for 26 days, and snow in the high country has been scarce since the start of the year.

In the meantime, expect Valley highs in the mid-70s into next week with overnight lows in the 40s.
