Phoenix weather: Storm fail

PHOENIX -- The storm system moving past Arizona looks like it’s going to be almost a complete bust when it comes to precipitation.

We thought Eastern Arizona had a decent chance for rain and snow showers, and we predicted a slight chance of rain for the Valley Thursday night.

Those chances around metro Phoenix have basically evaporated and now, as the storm drops into New Mexico, we’re going to carry only a slight chance of precipitation in Eastern Arizona.

However, the system will drop temperatures for a couple of days.

The highs across the desert are expected to drop to the low-to-mid 60s, and warm up by the end of the weekend. By next week, highs in metro Phoenix will be in the low-to-mid 70s.

It has been about three weeks since we have had decent rain and snow statewide.
