Chandler police seek help identifying bank robbery suspect

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Chandler Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a bank robbery suspect.

Sgt. Joe Favazzo said the suspect robbed the U.S. Bank branch inside the Safeway store near Alma School Road and Chandler Boulevard at about 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store westbound on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 25 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 160 pounds with a dark-colored beard and hair. He was wearing a black baseball hat and a gray hooded sweatshirt with the letters "SMU on the front.

Police have released photos of the suspect.
