After stroke, Ariz. legislator plans to run againPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- An Arizona legislator who suffered a stroke three months ago is back at work and planning to run for re-election.
Republican Rep. Doris Goodale of Kingman suffered the stroke while dining with her sister at a restaurant in Kingman in September.
The Arizona Capitol Times reports that Goodale says she is excited to be returning to her job at the Legislature.
She's still using a wheelchair to get around but hopes to be walking soon with a cane or walker.
She says her family isn't happy that she's running for re-election but says she just can't let go of legislative service.
Goodale is chair of the House Education Committee.
