Woman hit by car in central Phoenix

PHOENIX -- A woman is not expected to survive after being hit by a car Friday night.

Phoenix police said she was not in a designated crosswalk when she was crossing near Seventh Street and Indian School Road at about 11 p.m.

She appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, according to witnesses.

Police are treating this as a fatal accident because the woman is not expected to live.

The individuals in the car stayed on scene and were not impaired. They are on vacation from Wisconsin.
