Phoenix police seek suspect in sexual assault of teen

PHOENIX -- Silent Witness is asking for the public's help in tracking down a man who sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in Phoenix.

Police said the man asked the teen for directions in the area of 16th Street and Union Hills Drive at approximately 5 p.m. on Dec. 17.

The suspect was able to get the victim into his car based on a ruse and drove her to the area of Grovers and 19th avenues where he sexually assaulted her, according to police. He then dropped her off in the area of Ninth Street and Union Hills Drive.

The suspect is described as white, 25 to 35 years old, with a medium build, brown hair, trimmed beard and mustache. Police released surveillance photos taken of the suspect prior to the assault.

He was last seen in a green, newer model four-door car.

Silent Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information.
