PHOENIX -- Get your family ready for a weekend of prehistoric fun! Discover the Dinosaurs is a three-day-long, traveling exhibit that's making an appearance in Phoenix this weekend.

"It's an interactive dinosaur exhibit," says show director Taylor Hughes. "It's like a museum but with a fun area for kids. It's unlike anything else."

The attraction includes up to 60 museum-quality Dinosaurs in the exhibit. You'll find many moving dinosaurs, with movement and sound that are controlled electronically. Several are designed to be interactive with push buttons that can be controlled by guests.

There are also plenty of skeletons and fossils. And the backdrops were custom designed for the event to reflect the pre-historic landscapes and habitat where dinosaurs may have lived.

Here are some fun facts about the attraction:
-More than 9,000 square feet of camouflage netting are used the exhibit.
-More than 1,000 plants and trees are used in the scenes and throughout the exhibit.
-It takes the Discover the Dinosaurs staff three days to set up the exhibit.
-The Discover the Dinosaur tour travels to more than 80 cities in the U.S.
-The exhibit employs more that 40 people including 25 locally hired employees in each market

Discover the Dinosaurs runs Jan. 3-5 at the Phoenix Convention Center (South Building). That's located at 100 S. 3rd St. in Phoenix. Visit for more details.
