Pastor Joel Osteen hosts book signing on eve of 'A Night of Hope' event

PHOENIX and GLENDALE, Ariz. -- He may be a minister but he is also an international celebrity, and tonight Pastor Joel Osteen is holding a sold out event at Jobing.com arena.

Last night more than 600 people stood in line at the Barnes an Noble at Shea Boulevard and Loop 101 for a chance to meet Osteen in person and have him sign his new book "Break Out."

Osteen has his own security and handlers and Scottsdale PD was also there to keep an eye on the affable Osteen who shook hands and heard story after story from fans about how he ha helped him.

It was obvious that Osteen has achieved rock-star status as folks snapped pictures and gushed about getting to meet him in person.

Osteen has 2 million followers on Twitter, 5 million on Facebook and 10 million viewers from around the globe tune in every Sunday to watch his sermons from his Houston church that has 43,000 members.

Friday night's event, "A Night of Hope With Joel and Victoria," is sold out. A crowd of 13,000 is expected.
