MESA, Ariz. – A man was arrested after a Mesa woman found him sleeping in her bed early Monday morning.

Mesa police Sgt. Tony Landato said the woman heard noises at the unlocked front door of her home near Stapley Drive and McKellips Road at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. She thought it was one of her animals.

She found a man sleeping in her bedroom a couple of hours later and called police from a neighbor's home.

Landato said Brandon Jay Larsen, 19, had several articles of clothing over his arms and hands and did not respond to verbal commands. Officers deployed a stun gun and Larsen was taken into custody without further incident.

Landato said Larsen appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

He told police he was cold and was looking for a warm place to lie down.

Police said Larsen has a history of burglary, drugs and trespass.

Larsen was transported to the Mesa City Jail and booked on one count of criminal trespassing inside a residence.
