PHOENIX -- Mother Nature is giving desert-dwellers a break from the 70-degree temperatures this weekend.

Clouds are expected to sweep through Arizona as a shortwave tracks into the state from the northwest. This weather feature will also bring cooler air.

The cloud cover is expected to move into the Valley around noon Saturday and clear by midnight. In the wake of this shortwave, it may be a little breezy Sunday.

Saturday morning, look for a low of 44 degrees with an afternoon high of 68 degrees. Sunday morning’s low should dip to 43 degrees with an afternoon of 69 degrees under mainly sunny skies.

High pressure will build back into the region from the west next week.

The system will keep skies clear, winds light, and temperatures about 5 to 10 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year.

We’ll see the low 70s return to Phoenix by Tuesday.
