SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The day after Christmas was still a busy day for retailers as people headed to shopping malls to return gifts.

Retailers at Scottsdale Fashion Square and Tempe Marketplace offered big deals to keep those people in their stores.

"I found a jacket that I'd been eyeing about two weeks now," said shopper Susan Meeker, who didn't have any gifts to return. "Scored on that."

Nordstrom boasted its semi-annual sale for men, and Crate & Barrel reduced all its Christmas ornaments to half-price.

For some, the day after Christmas is an extension of their holiday celebration.

It's a day when the gift cards they received are worth much more.

"We saved it all for today," said Amanda Cunningham, who was carrying a large box after stops at Zara and Nordstrom. "We shop a few weeks before and then the day after."

Some of the deals at Tempe Marketplace will be available until New Year's Eve.
