PHOENIX -- High pressure is keeping dry weather with mostly clear skies and 70-degree afternoons in the Valley for the remainder of the week.

This stagnant weather pattern is creating higher pollution levels in Maricopa County. A “No Burn Day” was issued by the Maricopa County Air Quality Department for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

For Wednesday morning in Phoenix, look for a low of 44 and a high of 72 under sunny skies. The normal high for this day is 65 degrees. In Flagstaff, expect a morning low of 16 with a high of 40.

Those flying out of Sky Harbor Thursday can expect skies to remain clear with a morning low of 43 and an afternoon high of 71.

Very little change is expected through Friday.

This weekend, the scenery will change a bit as an area of low pressure moves eastward towards the southern California coast. This weather feature will bring partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies in the Valley both Saturday and Sunday. The low will track inland over northwest Mexico either Monday or Tuesday, but our forecasting models are keeping Arizona dry during this time. Temperatures are also only expected to drop a degree or two.
