Phoenix weather: Rain and snow leaving Ariz.

PHOENIX -- The storm that swept through Arizona on Friday is beginning to leave the state.

Things are winding down around metro Phoenix but, by late Friday afternoon, the system had brought significant rain and snow to the state.

Sky Harbor measured .39 inch of rain, which brings us to roughly 8.5 inches for the year. That’s more than the average yearly rainfall for Phoenix, which is 8.07 inches.

Many locations around the Valley received more than .39 inch.

One rain gauge in Mesa picked up more than 1 inch of rain between Thursday night and Friday afternoon.

The storm also dumped snow across Arizona's high country.
