PHOENIX -- Every year between Christmas and New Year's the blood donations drop drastically, but the need is still there. Help us and you can "Find the Hero" in you!

We're asking our viewers to donate blood and save lives and hope to encourage 600 people per day across the Valley to donate between Dec. 26-Dec. 31, and continue through the Saving Arizona Blood Drive on Saturday, January 5 at the Tempe Center for the Arts from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Everyone that donates on Jan. 5 will receive a voucher for one FREE ticket to the Waste Management Phoenix Open AND one FREE 14' cheese pizza from the Streets of New York!

Join 3TV, the United Blood Services of Arizona, and nearly 20 radio stations across the Valley as strive to replenish the much needed blood supply.

To make a donation appointment at the Saving Arizona Drive, call 1-877-UBS-HERO (1-877-827-4376) toll free or CLICK HERE. For an appointment at a donor center or other blood drive, click on the "donate" link on the left side of this page enter your zip code or city name.

At the time of year when Arizona’s patient population is at its highest, blood donations are at the lowest. “We hope to encourage more blood donations while people are focused on the spirit of giving,” said Audrey Jennings, Regional Center Director for United Blood Services/Arizona. Winter vacations and school recesses prevent many organizations from holding blood drives. The cold and flu season can also temporarily defer many regular donors from being eligible to give blood. Jennings added, “It takes a personal commitment to save lives. If you don’t give blood, who will?”
