SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Octane Raceway is the first racetrack in the United States to have the new Sodi-RTX karts, making it a great place to take the kids over holiday break, or while one parent is getting their Christmas shopping done.

Imported from France, the Sodi-RTX karts can hit speeds of up to 45 mph. The new karts are a thrill to maneuver with precision balanced handling, immediate responsiveness and are equipped with adjustable seats, pedals and tilt steering for ultimate driver comfort.

3TV's Ryan O'Donnell strapped in and took one of the new karts for a spin.

Octane is also a Toys for Tots donation center for the second year in a row. Through Friday, Dec. 20, Octane is collecting new, unwrapped toys for children in need. Look for the donation boxes by the front door to make a contribution.

"We like to add as much fun and meaning to the holiday season as we can," Octane Raceway president Scott Sanders said. "Whether you need a gift you know their love, a last-minute stocking stuffer, an adrenaline filled break or want to give back to those less fortunate through Toys for Tots, we have it here."

Octane is open Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-midnight; and Sunday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. The track will be open Christmas Eve, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; Christmas Day, noon-7 p.m.; New Year's Eve, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; and New Year's Day, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
