PHOENIX -- A man was arrested after allegedly carjacking an elderly couple Saturday afternoon and fleeing with the male passenger still inside the car.

Police said Chateen Latfolla, 32, approached the SUV at 51st Street and Elliot Road in the Ahwatukee area, and threw the 85-year-old female driver out of the car.

He then allegedly sped off with the vehicle, apparently not realizing the woman's 91-year-old husband was still sitting in the passenger seat, police said.

Officers tracked Latfolla down at Wild Horse Pass Casino and arrested him.

The elderly passenger was found with casino security and was not injured.

The woman was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Latfolla was booked on two counts of robbery, and one count of aggravated assault, kidnapping, stolen vehicle, and possession of narcotic drugs. He was also booked on outstanding warrants.
