PHOENIX -- Authorities are investigating suspected illegal gambling at five locations around the Valley.

Agents from the Arizona Department of Gaming, Maricopa County Attorney's Office, Phoenix Police Department, Department of Public Safety and the Glendale Police Department served simultaneous warrants on Thursday.

The locations included Pocket Rockets, 13048 W. Rancho Santa Fe Road, Avondale; Cracked Aces, 15224 N. 59th Ave., Glendale; AZ Poker Supply, 6003 N. 43rd Ave., Phoenix; Poker Play, 4494 W. Peoria Ave., Glendale; and Joker Social Club, 3519 W. Northern Ave., Phoenix.

Evidence suggests possible violations including possession of gambling devices, benefiting from gambling, promotion of gambling, and possession of gambling records, according to Jelena Momich with the Arizona Department of Gaming.

Agents seized 11 poker tables and other gambling materials, thousands of poker chips, several televisions and surveillance equipment, computers, records and nearly $5,000 in cash.

The investigation is ongoing and two people were arrested on unrelated charges.

Momich said this was part of a combined effort to pursue concerns over alleged illegal gambling operations throughout Phoenix. To report suspected illegal gambling, contact your local police department or the Arizona Department of Gaming at 602-255-3888.
