Phoenix police search for suspect in fatal stabbing

PHOENIX – Phoenix police are trying to locate the suspect in a fatal stabbing.

Police were called to a residence in the area of Maryland and 35th avenues at around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a cutting, according to Officer James Holmes.

Responding officers learned that Alec Imus, 25, had been stabbed during an altercation with a Hispanic male.

Holmes said Imus' friends took him to a local hospital where he later was pronounced dead.

The suspect fled the area. Detectives are working to identify and locate him.

A motive has not been released.
