PHOENIX  -- A freeze warning is posted for metro Phoenix for the early morning hours of Tuesday. Temperatures in some isolated areas may drop into the 20s but right now it looks like many locations around the Valley will be at or above freezing. Two things are going to apparently keep this from being a very cold night: wind and clouds.

Light winds are forecast around the Valley, especially in the east Valley, and any mixing of air tends to keep temperatures warming. Also, there’s a chance we’ll see some high, wispy clouds float over the Valley. Even the thinnest of clouds can have a big impact on cold morning temperatures.

After Tuesday morning, we’re going to start a nice little warm-up the rest of the week. By Friday and the weekend, expect highs around 70 degrees for metro Phoenix.
