SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Fire officials said a hazardous materials scare at an area hospital Sunday morning was not a threat.

Crews from the Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tempe fire departments responded to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center for a report of a hazardous materials incident.

According to fire officials, a chemical spill occurred after a piece of equipment broke off a CT scanner, which is used for x-rays.

Crews contained the chemical to the area where it was located and determined the chemical was benign.

The hospital is open.
