Pima corrections officer accused of sex with inmates

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A corrections officer with the Pima County Sheriff's Department is accused of having sex with female inmates.

On Dec. 4, the department investigated allegations that corrections officer Jorge Renteria-Urias had inappropriate contact with female inmates.

Following the investigation, Renteria-Urias was arrested on nine counts of unlawful sexual conduct within a correctional facility, a class five felony. He was booked into the Pima County Jail.

He was placed on unpaid leave pending his termination, according to the Sheriff's Department.
