PHOENIX -- A cold front bringing rain and snow is headed toward Arizona. The snow should start in northern Arizona on Wednesday morning. We’re expecting two to five inches of snow above 6,000 feet, though the snow level will drop to about the 5,000 foot level as the storm clears out.

In metro Phoenix, we have about a 20 percent chance for scattered showers, mainly on Wednesday afternoon and evening. However, coverage of actual rain is expected to be pretty low so you’re more likely to stay dry than see any measurable rain in your neighborhood.

The other big news will be the drop in temperatures, about 20 degrees as the front pushes through. Highs around Phoenix were in the mid-70s Tuesday and by Thursday, highs will only be in the mid-50s.

It's going to be chilly!
