GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Glendale Glitters kicked off its 20th year with a packed opening night Friday.

The festival started with just 10,000 people its first year.

Now, the light display at Murphy Park attracts 75,000 people on opening weekend.

The 1.5 million lights start going up in August across 16 city blocks.

Food, crafts, candy, and gifts are also available.

The City of Glendale asks you use #GlendaleGlitters and #Glitters20 to tag your pictures on Twitter.

Glendale Glitters is a free event.

The lights stay up until Jan. 11.
