Black Friday shopping strategies to give you an advantagePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Black Friday is what I call the "Super Bowl of shopping." It’s important to plan your night in advance so you’ll have the best chance of getting the bargains you’re looking for.
Wal-Mart released Black Friday maps for all of their stores. The doorbuster deals aren't located where you would think they'd be, so it's a huge advantage to know where the deal you want is.
Search for the zip code of your Walmart to find the Black Friday ad for you. Remember that the stores offer one-hour guarantees now for many of their top items (6 p.m.-7 p.m.). Even if they run out of the item you’re looking for, you’ll get a raincheck to get the Black Friday price later. Here's a rundown of my favorite Walmart Black Friday deals.
Staples opens at 8 p.m. this Thanksgiving and has a hot deal on a Kindle Fire. You’ll be able to get one for just $79 while supplies last, a $159 value.
If you shop at Kohls, check your mail for a $10 off your $10+ purchase coupon this Black Friday. If you didn’t get the flier, you’ll be able to get most of the doorbuster deals online here (with few exceptions).
Check out how I got a $300 KitchenAid stand mixer down to around $100 with all offers. You’ll also be able to score nice savings on Dyson vacuums (33 percent off plus the 15 percent off coupon plus Kohl’s cash).
If you’re in the market for a new Washer and Dryer, you may want to head to Sears at 8 p.m. Thursday night. They’re selling a brand new front-loader Kenmore set for just $799.99. The washer and dryer eah usually go for $899.99 so this is an amazing deal.
Find the map of deals for the Target you’ll be hitting Thursday night at 8 p.m. and you’ll have a much better chance of getting what you’re looking for. Would you think of finding the Element 50″ TVs for $229 in the frozen food section?
Shop the Dbacks Team Shop on Friday, 8 a.m.-10 a.m. and get 40 percent off the entire store. What’s even better is that when you spend $75, you’ll get a doorbuster deal. You’ll have two to choose from until 11 a.m. (or when they run out). One is a framed picture of Chase field along with pieces of a base, ball, and sand used in a game. My son is going to love this more than any other gift this year and it’s free with a $75 purchase! When they’re gone, they’re gone. You can also choose a package of two Dbacks tumblers. They’ll most likely be available after the framed pictures are gone (until 11 a.m.). If you have a baseball fan, I would head to the team shop at 8 a.m. Check out pictures of the freebies here.
When you’re done shopping, you can go ice skating for free Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Desert Ride Marketplace, ice skate rental included. Find out more here.
On Saturday you can grab a free Red Velvet cupcake at Sprinkles if you’re wearing ASU or U of A apparel. They’ll even have a contest to see if they get more ASU or U of A fans.
Be sure to check out my Facebook page for even more great Black Friday deals. I even posted one on discounted braces.
