MESA, Ariz. -- Police are investigating at least 18 cases of vandalism in a neighborhood near Southern Avenue and Dobson Road.

The vandals spray painted graffiti on cars, recreational vehicles, and homes either late Sunday night or early Monday morning.

Police were in the area Monday talking to residents as they try to track down the people who defaced the property.

Meantime, the victims have been busy scrubbing away the paint.

"The whole block’s covered in spray paint, said Mark Fraboni who owns a car that was hit. "I had no idea what to do so started walking around looking to see what kind of damage they did...and we just started helping people clean their cars."

Police said they do not suspect gang members for the vandalism.
