GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Arizona Public Service repair crews spent the morning re-installing a power pole after a car hit it early Monday.

It happened at just before 6:30 a.m. in the area of 51st and Glendale avenues.

A car was northbound on 51st Avenue when the driver apparently lost control and took out the pole. The car continued up on to the curb and through the yard of one home before slamming into a brick wall in front of a second home.

Aerial video from Chopper 3 showed a light car with dark stripes on the hood sitting next to another power pole.

The driver reportedly was taken to a local hospital. No information about the person was immediately available.

No other injuries were reported.

APS said crews would be on the scene for at least a couple of hours.

Northbound traffic on 51st Avenue was restricted to one lane just south of Glendale Avenue.
