TUCSON, Ariz. – The death of a man whose body was pulled from a Tucson wash is being investigated as a homicide.

Police officers responded to the area of North Riverside Drive and West Saint Mary's Road Friday afternoon in reference to a body floating in the wash.

Personnel from the Tucson Fire Department extracted the body from the wash. The cause of death could not be immediately determined.

Tucson police spokesman Sgt. Chris Widmer said an autopsy on Saturday showed that the man had suffered signs of trauma indicative of a homicide.

The body has been identified as Owen McNutt, 34.
Detectives said they discovered that the man had previous gang affiliations.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are asking anyone with information to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.
