Prices at the pump continue to fallPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Here's something for which we can be thankful! Gas prices in Arizona are continuing to drop.
According to AAA Arizona, prices at the pump in our state maintained their free-fall this week, shedding nearly 2 cents a gallon, and averaging $3.13 per gallon. Conversely, the national average ticked up 2.6 cents at $3.22 per gallon.
"Storms in the Midwest may have caused pump prices in other states to inch up, but Arizonans are enjoying another week of lower prices. In fact, we are on track to pay the lowest pump price for Thanksgiving since 2010," said Linda Gorman, director of communications and public affairs for AAA Arizona. "Given current market factors, this is a trend we anticipate will continue through the holiday season."
Lower pump prices are great news for the nearly 745,000 Arizonans expected to drive next week to their holiday destination.
Tucson and Flagstaff hold the low and high state fuel averages at $3.01 and $3.40 per gallon, respectively. Missouri and Connecticut hold the lowest and highest average prices for the lower 48 states at $2.87 and $3.59 per gallon, respectively.
