MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- A business raid Wednesday by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has resulted in the arrests of three workers suspected of using fake or stolen identities in order to get jobs.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio says his investigators are seeking to arrest four other workers at East Valley Disaster Services in Mesa who are suspected of similar criminal violations.
A call left late Wednesday afternoon at the business wasn't immediately returned.
Arpaio says the company's owner has been cooperative.
The bust marks the 75 business raid by Arpaio's office since the state's employer sanctions law took effect in 2008.
Arpaio says the raids have been effective in combatting ID theft, while critics say the operations have been ineffective because few employers have actually been brought to civil court under the sanctions law.
