Almost free wine, free turkey and more supermarket savings

PHOENIX -- Today is the day to shop at Fry's. They're currently having a 25 percent off wine sale when you buy six or more bottles (good through Tuesday, Nov. 19). Look for the labels (like the one shown here) that show you'll save $40 off your entire grocery purchase when you buy six eligible bottles of Sterling and BV wines. You'll have to buy $40 worth of groceries not including the wine.

To give you an example, BV Coastal Chardonnay is currently on sale for $8.88 a bottle (usually $12.99). Buy six bottles and the price gets down to $6.66 a bottle with the 25 percent off sale. At that price, six bottles will cost you $39.96. Take away the $40 and you're talking six bottles of free wine (you'll pay tax) when you buy $40 of groceries. I love the Sterling Chardonnay and I got that down to $0.82/bottle (list price $14.99).

We can all stock up for Thanksgiving! They have different levels of wines and select spirits available that are eligible for the $40 discount. This is the best value I've ever seen on wine.

Now, let's talk turkey. Fry's is matching all competitors advertised prices on turkeys. Albertson's has a coupon going (through today) on their ad that when you spend $100 in groceries, you'll get up to a 15.99 lb. turkey free. Bring that coupon into Fry's (you can print it here) and get a free Kroger turkey when you meet all the requirements.

To top it all off, Fry's currently has a "What a Deal"sale going on. Buy 10 participating items and save $5 off your groceries.

If you count carefully, with the discount you'll pay just $.29 for cans of Swanson broth, $.79 for jars of Heinz gravy, $.99 for Stove Top stuffing, and $.99 for Ocean Spray cranberry sauce. They have other What a Deal-eligible products all over the store. Check out the full ad before you shop.
