LAKE HAVASU, Ariz. – Four people were ejected from a boat after it hit a sandbar at Lake Havasu and landed upside down Wednesday afternoon.Mohave County sheriff's deputies responded to a single-injury boating accident that occurred at the Blankenship Bend also known as the Sandbar at about 2 p.m.Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter said the 26-foot Laveycraft boat rolled multiple times after hitting the sandbar and came to rest upside down on it.Apparently, the boat was traveling approximately 50 mph and passing jet skis when it struck the sandbar. Carter said the four occupants, who are all from Lake Havasu City, were ejected from the boat. They were not wearing life jackets.Ralph Reed, 69, was operating the boat with his wife and two friends onboard. All occupants were transported to Windsor Beach by the Lake Havasu City Fire Department. Madeline Gordon, 69, was transported by ambulance to Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.The boat was towed from the scene.The accident remains under investigation.
