PHOENIX -- Phoenix Union High School District will be holding a Teacher Career Fair at their district office on Saturday, November 16, with hopes of filling 30 open positions.

The positions are for the second semester, which begins in January 2014. Interviews begin at 9 a.m. and last through 2 p.m.

The Teacher Career Fair has been created due to a high increase in enrollment numbers and a shortage of teachers in critical areas.

There are teaching openings in subjects including mathematics, physical science, environment science, special education, English as a second language, family and consumer science, early childhood education, English/social studies split, and business.

School and district personnel will be conducting the interviews.

Prospective teachers interviewing at the job fair should bring a resume, transcripts, teacher certification, letters of recommendation and a copy of a fingerprint clearance card. It is recommended that applicants also complete a Phoenix Union online application before the fair if they have not done so already.

The application can be found at:

Interviews will be held at the district office, located at 4502 N. Central Avenue.
