PHOENIX -- Two people are dead after a motorcycle accident near 99th Avenue and Buckeye.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office tells us the two victims were found in the roadway, and their motorcycle was found in a nearby ditch.
Preliminary information indicates that a semi-truck was turning left into a distribution site, when a motorcycle carrying the two people clipped a part of the trailer, causing the motorcycle to lose control.
According to MCSO spokesman Brandon Jones, the riders were ejected, and they landed in the roadway. Then, several vehicles apparently ran over them, killing them.
The area was closed to traffic as detectives from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office began investigating this accident.
