PHOENIX -- Libby, a kitten rescued in September from the ceiling of the Pyle Adult Recreation Center in Tempe is now up for adoption.

Libby has been cared for by an Arizona Human Society veterinary technician since her rescue.

When saved, Libby weighed a little more than a pound, but she needed to reach two pounds to be spayed.

The Arizona Humane Society will be holding an adoption for Libby on Friday, Nov. 8, starting at noon at the AHS Sunnyslope Campus Adoptions Lobby.

The adoption process will be held as a drawing because nine people have already signed up as possible adopters. AHS recommends that potential adopters arrive early.

Libby's adoption fee is $75, which includes her spaying, primary vaccinations, collar, carrier, and follow-up exam with VCA Animal Hospitals.

AHS Sunnyslope is located at 9226 North 13th Avenue in Phoenix.
