PHOENIX -- A 17-year-old boy died this week after being shot while standing outside a Phoenix home.
Police said Jose Romero died Wednesday after being shot on Nov. 1 in the area of 12th Street and Fillmore.
Officers responded to the home after receiving word of shots fired. They arrived to discover that Romero and a 22-year-old man were suffering from gunshot wounds.
Romero was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition, while the other victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said they later learned that Romero and the man had been standing outside of a home when a man drove by and opened fire.
Detectives know little about the suspect, and are asking anyone with any information to call the Phoenix Police Department’s Violent Crimes Bureau at 602-262-6141 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
