PHOENIX -- Police have released surveillance pictures of four suspects in a series of recent luggage thefts at Sky Harbor Airport.

Police say the men have been stealing bags from the carousels and using the Phx Sky Train to get away from the airport.

On average, one or two bags are stolen from Sky Harbor Airport each month, according to police. But the number of bag stolen in September and October jumped to approximately 10 bags.

"We're hoping to be proactive to be able to identify these particular individuals and prevent these types of thefts here are the airport," said Sgt. Steve Martos with the Phoenix Police Department.

Anyone with information on these suspects is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness at 480--WITNESS or 480-948-6377.

This is not the first time authorities have investigated organized luggage thefts from Sky Harbor Airport.

A couple was arrested in 2009 for stealing hundreds of bags from the airport. Keith King was sentenced to 10-1/2 years in prison. Stacy Legg King was sentenced to 3-1/2 years in prison.

In 2010, police also arrested Michael Hegstad for allegedly stealing luggage at Sky Harbor Airport.
