Husband-and-wife team offer great food, atmosphere at Beckett's Table

PHOENIX -- They say that behind every great man stands a great woman. That's certainly the case at Beckett's Table restaurant.

Justin Beckett and his wife Michelle have been serving delicious food to Valley diners for three years.

"It couldn't be done without Michelle in the picture," says Beckett. "Somebody has to run life while you're working. It's back and forth. It's a give and take."

Beckett says what matters to him most is family, friends and honest, incredible food. With considerable help from Michelle, and partners Scott and Katie Stephens, Beckett has created an irresistible and comfortable venue for their Arcadia/Biltmore clientele, delivering comfort and sophistication.

"At the end of the day, the question we're always asking each other is, how is the guest going to perceive this? How does the guest feel leaving the restaurant after this experience," Beckett says. "That's the key to every conversation. That's the bottom line."

"We want them to feel like extended family," adds Michelle.

The menu emphasizes seasonal American cooking and unique twists on trusted comfort food classics served in an inviting atmosphere; urging patrons to follow the Beckett's Table mandate: Come Together.

Coming together is easy at Beckett's Table with Social Hour and AZ Wine Day. Beckett's Table take on happy hour is keeping guests refreshed. Available at the community table and bar Tuesday through Sunday from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Social Hour features $6 appetizers and signature cocktails, $5 glasses of select wines and $3 draft beers.

Say no to the bite-sized portions of the average happy hour and enjoy Beckett's Table's standard-sized appetizers like the famous grilled cheese and tomato soup. Wash it all down with craft cocktails: the AZ Farmhand, The Palmaire or Legend City.

On Sundays, guests can start the week of AZ Wine Day with 1/2 priced bottles of independently produced Arizona wines. The rotating variety of wines come from all over Arizona, including Sand-Reckoner Vineyards from Willcox and Burning Tree Cellars and Pillsbury Wine Company from Cottonwood.

And coming this spring, the Beckett's Table is bringing a taste of the South to central Phoenix. Soulful, warm and centered around community, Southern Rail will offer flavors of the American South. Diners will enjoy a journey of nostalgic flavors accented by a robust all American wine and beverage program in a genuinely comfortable setting.

Open daily for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, the Southern Rail is located at The Newton, the highly anticipated multi-tenant renewal of the iconic Beef Eaters restaurant.

Meantime, Thanksgiving is just weeks away. Beckett's Table is currently accepting orders for their award-winning fig and pecan pies ($28 each) as well as pints of house-made citrus ice cream ($7 each). The desserts will be available for pickup on November 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Make sure to place your order by November 23.
