PHOENIX -- Building lean muscle can be as easy as ABC. As part of our new "Fit for Fall" series, nutrition and fitness expert Tiffani Bachus visited us on Monday's Good Morning Arizona with some fitness tips. She says when it comes to weight training, it's important to remember the ABCs.

-"A" stands for "active muscle tension"
While demonstrating a bicep curl, Bachus pointed out that it's important to keep the muscle active and engaged the whole time. "You want to make sure that you don't go all the way down to a full extension where you're resting the muscle," she says. She suggests eight to 15 repetitions.

-"B" stands for "breathing"
"You want to make sure that you supply the muscles with oxygen and breathe," Bachus says. Some people tend to hold their breath while lifting weights.

-"C" stands for "core control"
When your abs aren't tight, you can lose control of the weight. So make sure to keep a strong core the whole time.

Bachus is hosting a boot camp in Phoenix, Nov. 8-10. You can find information at
