PHOENIX -- Sky Harbor Airport is making some changes to its oldest terminal.

Terminal 2, built in 1962, is a reminder of what the old airport was like. City Council just approved a $500 million expansion for Sky Harbor.

The airport plans to get rid of terminal 2 and expand terminal 3.

The expansion will feature additional ticket counters, expanded security checkpoints, more baggage claim carousels and additional gates.

The expansion will be worked in phases and has a completion date for 2020.
