PHOENIX -- A registered sex offender was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly tried to attack his wife and stepdaughter at their Peoria home.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said Andres Lasa, 37, was taken into custody in the area of 39th Avenue and Indian School Road following a lengthy search.
According to MCSO, deputies responded to a home belonging to Lasa’s wife after he allegedly tried to break in with a weapon and harm his wife and stepdaughter.
Following his arrest, Lasa was booked into jail on four counts of endangerment, attempted aggravated assault, threatening and intimidating, burglary, and violation of court order.
Lasa’s wife had previously obtained a restraining order against him.
Back on Oct. 11, Lasa was also arrested for allegedly attacking his stepdaughter with a knife. Lasa was arraigned in court and released on his own recognizance.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said he’s glad they arrested Lasa before he could do any serious harm.
“My deputies did a great job in tracking this suspect down before he could do any more damage to his family,” said Arpaio.
