TEMPE, Ariz. – Tempe police detectives arrested four suspects in connection with a series of armed robberies.
Jorge Ramirez-Flores, 18, and a 17-year-old male were booked and charged with two counts each of armed robbery. Aaron Islas, 18, and Julio Lugo, 18, were booked and charged with one count each of armed robbery.
Detectives said the four suspects committed three robberies at Little Caesars locations in Tempe where a gun was displayed and/or threatened. Each of the robberies involved different combinations of the four suspects.
Police spokesman Officer Gregory Duarte said the suspects dressed similarly in each of the incidents.
Police said Islas was linked to an armed robbery at a Little Caesars at Baseline Road and 48th Street on July 20. Police connected Ramirez-Flores, Lugo and the 17-year-old to a Sept. 12 armed robbery at the same location.
Police said Ramirez-Flores and the juvenile were involved in an armed robbery at a Little Caesars near Rural and Broadway roads on Sept. 23.
All four admitted to being involved in the Tempe incidents and there are no outstanding suspects, according to Duarte.
Police said the four suspects may also be responsible for four armed robberies in Phoenix.
The seven robberies were committed between July 20 and Sept. 23.
