SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- A woman died Thursday afternoon after her vehicle went through a red light at a Scottsdale intersection.
Police said the woman was driving a Ford Taurus north on Lakeview Dr. when she failed to stop at the light on Shea Blvd.
The woman’s vehicle was then hit by a Dodge pickup truck that was traveling eastbound.
The woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries and did not need to be hospitalized.
Investigators believe that the woman suffered a medical condition which caused her not to stop at the intersection.
Authorities had to close the area near the intersection for multiple hours as they investigated.
