PHOENIX -- Who wouldn’t love the Valley of the Sun this time of year?

“I love this weather because it’s like having spring fever for a long, long time,” said Louise Smalley. “Fantastic temperatures and ideal blue skies.”

Tuesday afternoon, a streak of mid-80-degree temperatures continued to gently warm the Valley, with Sky Harbor reaching a high of 84. Seasonal average for this time of year is 89.“I love this weather, but my wallet loves it more,” said Rich Ochoa. "No A/C or heater running, 24/7.”

A dip in the jet stream is allowing dry and mild air to filter into Arizona. With light winds, Tuesday morning’s low temperatures in Phoenix dropped to 60 degrees.

“It’s paradise. This morning it was perfect for my 6:30 a.m. seven mile walk from downtown Phoenix to the State Capitol Complex,” said Michael Paul Bedore. “Glorious weather.”

As our neighbor to the east are getting inundated with storms, forecasting models indicate very little change in Arizona’s tranquil weather pattern over the next 7 days.

“I’m currently in Texas for work and it is raining, raining, raining,” said Jenne Harris. “I miss my Arizona sun! I need my Vitamin D.”

While there’s clearly a popular opinion on what some would consider Chamber of Commerce weather, some are singing a different tune.

“For us, having a few months of cooler weather does not make up for our unbearable summer heat and the terrible pollution,” said Cherene Cunningham. “We suffer from allergies and asthma so this is not the place to be anymore.”

Still, those like David Martin believe the pros outweigh the cons.

“We suffer through the four months of summer to enjoy the other eight months of the year, gladly,” said Martin. “This Midwesterner isn’t going anywhere.”

On Wednesday, Phoenix is expected to see slightly cooler temperatures with a low of 56 with a high of 82.
