Phoenix police identify motorcyclist killed by SUV

PHOENIX – Phoenix police have identified a motorcyclist who died after being run over Saturday afternoon.
 
Eric B. Brown, 40, was hit by a GMC Yukon at Bell Road and 23rd Street at approximately 2 p.m.

According to Officer James Holmes, a 25-year-old woman was exiting a private drive to go north on 23rd Street as Brown was traveling west on Bell.

Brown appeared to have seen the GMC and laid the motorcycle down in an effort to avoid it, but the vehicle ran over him and his motorcycle.

Brown was transported to a local hospital where he later was pronounced dead.

Holmes said there were no indications of impairment.
 
The driver of the Yukon was issued civil citations related to the collision.
