PHOENIX -- A man died Saturday afternoon after he was run over while riding his motorcycle in north Phoenix.
Police said the incident occurred when a vehicle exited a private drive to go north on 23rd Street.
The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Bell Road, and in an attempt to avoid the vehicle, he laid down his motorcycle.
The vehicle, however, wound up running over the man and his motorcycle.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police have closed Bell Road from 20th Street to Cave Creek for several hours to investigate the incident.
There’s no word on if impairment was a factor, or if any charges will be filed.
