DOUGLAS, Ariz. -- More than 200 pounds of marijuana was seized this week after an ultra-light plane was observed flying into the United States from Mexico.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said agents at the Douglas Border Patrol station were notified Tuesday morning after the Office of Air and Marine noticed a possible ultra-light aircraft in the area.
Using remote video surveillance cameras, agents were able to locate the aircraft as it made its way across the border.
Agents followed the aircraft as it traveled north for several miles and then dropped what appeared to be several bundles of narcotics near McNeal.
The aircraft then returned to Mexico.
Agents searched the area and found a total of nine bundles of marijuana weighing 210 pounds.
