Deals to help you scare up some Halloween funPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Halloween can take a big bite out of your wallet.
According to the National Retail Federation's Halloween Spending Survey by Proper Insights & Analytics, about 65 percent of people surveyed planned to celebrate Halloween this year, and the average person will spend about $75 on decorations, costumes and, of course, candy. While that's down a bit from last year, it's still a significant expense.
Here are some deals to help you have a great time and save some of your hard-earned cash.
Goodwill: They’re known as the “official sponsor of Halloween” and have wonderful costume ideas. Even better, this Saturday, Oct. 5, all slightly used items are 50 percent off. The sale applies to all used goods. New and seasonal items are excluded. You can get creative and make a custom Halloween costume and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.
Halloween Spooktacular at Salt River Fields: Here’s another excuse for the kids to put on their costumes. This fun event runs Friday-Saturday, Oct. 25-26, and includes trick-or-treating, hot-air balloons on display, a haunted house, fireworks, and more.
Spirit Halloween: If you can’t find what you’re looking for at Goodwill, Spirit Halloween, as its name implies, is a great place for all things Halloween.
Halloween candy coupons: Candy is by far the biggest Halloween expense for most people. The goodies will be going on sale soon and I've found some coupons that will save you even more.

Hot haunted-house deal: Have you heard of the Fear Farm? It’s Arizona’s largest scare park. It has fire haunted attractions and was voted best haunted house in Phoenix last year. If you want to go, don’t pay full price.
